The Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association Unveils its“Myth vs. Reality” Campaign on Generic Drugs

Montréal, May 8, 2024 – The Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association (CGPA) is launching its “Myth vs. Reality” campaign on LinkedIn and Facebook, aimed at debunking myths about the generic pharmaceutical industry and informing Quebeckers, key industry players and Quebec policymakers about the value of generic prescription medicines. The campaign starts today on May 8th andwill run over the coming months

“Generic drugs are essential to the sustainability of the healthcare system,” explained Jim Keon, President of CGPA. “With this campaign, we want to ensure that Quebeckers and decision makers have an accurate picture of the contribution of our industry to inform their decisions. For example, while inflation is on everyone’s lips, generic drug prices have been stable for about 10 years.”

The CGPA campaign is based, in part, on a Quebec survey by Nanos Research. The survey, conducted between November 30 and December 10, 2023, reveals Quebeckers’ support for the generic industry and misconceptions about generic drug prices.

Everyone can access the campaign on the CGPA Facebook or LinkedIn.
