CGPA Statement Regarding the Passing of Dr. Barry and Honey Sherman

Toronto, December 18, 2017 – The following is a statement by Jim Keon, President of the Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association (CGPA), regarding the passing of Dr. Barry and Honey Sherman.

“CGPA and its member companies are devastated by the news of the passing of Dr. Barry and Honey Sherman. We extend our deepest condolences to their family, friends and the employees of Apotex.

Dr. Sherman was an icon and pioneer in the Canadian generic pharmaceutical industry and made an enormous contribution to affordable and accessible medicines for Canadians and people across the Globe.

The philanthropic activities of Barry and Honey touched countless lives and remain an enduring testament to their compassion and generosity.

The employees of Apotex can expect the full support of their Association and industry through this terribly difficult and trying time.”
